Casa: The Prepared Environment
It is believed by Maria Montessori that the area wherein the child continuously learns is expected to be prepared and fixed with the main goal of enhancing the skills of the child as well as to enable his independence.
The prepared environment is counted as the child’s safe haven, wherein he becomes socially aware of his surroundings. This is where the child chooses what to learn and within this space, he has a sense of control in which activities he wants to do. Most, if not all of the materials and various objects surrounding him has a specific purpose in his development and learning ability.
